You know more about your families than we do!
So Terry told you about how our awards are right with the expected circumstances, but what about when things aren't what we expect? Sometimes the information that is collected by an application for a formula is out of date, or does not tell the whole story. This can happen when a parent takes a pay cut, gets injured or sick, or loses employment. The information they gave you for their annual income is now no longer relevant. Also families may have a special circumstance that raises the amount they need to spend. These might include a special needs child, an elderly parent, or tuition in another school. FAST's easy to understand formula allows you to make a change and immediately have an award that is better suited for the family.

Sometimes the formula may need to be adjusted to fit a school's policy. Many schools impute income to a non-working parent that has no children in the home during the day. Some schools give an allowance for families that have children in college. These types of policies are easily handled by FAST. A quick adjustment by you and the formula perfectly fits your schools philosophy. And the best part is you will understand why the award changed when you made your adjustment.

I think this type of flexibility is the true power of FAST. It allows you feel like you got the award right because you understood the family and respected your school's policies of what is fair.
